A visit to the water park

On August 2, mom's birthday, we spent the day at a local water park. It was a warm and clear day, and one of Cori's teammate's mothers invited us to join them, which we all thought was a brilliant idea. The place is vast, with great areas for kids of all ages: there is an expanse of shallow areas, slides, attractions, and showers for little kids, as well as deeper areas, a standard diving board, and several other slides. Curiously, there's also a sandy play area, which seems incongruous with keeping the pool areas clean. We packed a picnic lunch and ate in the parking lot when we arrived, as outside food is disallowed, and we spent enough on the admission fee to avoid buying their food. We have tentative plans to return on the Labor Day weekend for a nephew's birthday, which -- depending on the weather -- should be fun.

Nick enjoying the cooling effects of the shallow end... or is he peeing?

Cori and her friend and softball teammate Sam queue up for the water slide.

Self-explanatory.
