Article: The book on raising two athletic daughters - espnW

ESPN has a special online section devoted to women's sports , which does a particularly good job of providing more in-depth coverage than simply scores. This article struck me and the book intrigues me, father of two sporting daughters, since it's premise is more than the final score, but all the little moments as well.

Wow, this blog really took some time off. Therefore, I thought I would post Cori's basketball recruiting video, compiled at two back-to-back tournaments this summer down in Cincinnati and Indianapolis.

Los Fresnos Parade

We went to the Los Fresnos Parade on Saturday, held in conjunction with a 3-day rodeo in that same town. Last year the parade was about 5 minutes long, due to the cold weather. Temp about 30 degrees and strong wind. The organizers advised the schools not to let their kids march, which caused the parade to collapse to almost nothing. This year it was 85 degrees and mostly sunny. The parade was an hour and half. I missed getting a photo of the Budweiser Clydesdales - they were early in the parade, and I hadn't thought to get my camera out. We suspect their A-team was in Indianapolis for the Super Bowl. We have always been impressed by all the beautiful children in the parade. Each local elementary school enters a unit, most of them as a marching/dancing group, and there seems to be at least a dozen schools.
