Shedd's Aquarium

Image
Moving backward in time, not altogether very linear, this post took place on our trip back east from Aunt Hallie's birthday party in Lincoln back in early April. Almost like last summer's camping trip to Manistee, and Dad's memorable comment about it being "the best...," there were moments during our visit to Shedd's Aquarium -- the "Hey dad, come here and look at this" or "Wow, can you believe this?" utterances and enthusiasms -- that confirm and confirm again what an outstanding idea it was to plan on stopping by the aquarium. Differing degrees of enthusiasms. Consulting with Mom and Dad's book Roadfood , we were off for a recommended Italian dinner at Ricobene's and a long drive home. From a parental perspective, Shedd's was a spectacular, memorable cap to a great trip.

Happy Birthday Garrett!

Garrett celebrated his birthday with a few of his friends at the local Laser Tag venue, Shadowland. They ate hot dogs and Cheetos, washed down by the good old Coke in a bottle. They had the place to themselves so the only bad guy was Flash... aka Mom! He got a few Nerf guns, some MSU attire and a pink t-shirt that says "Somebody call a Vet because these puppies are sick". He loved it all! THANK YOU FROM GARRETT

Jack forwarded on a great (longish) article about golf and the power of myth. And, for another link, it also happens to loosely involve the greater Lake Placid area we will be visiting this summer. Click on the title above for a link to the article, or click here .
