The Christmas present after Christmas

Image
This is Holly, my reindeer, after being stuffed. She has two outfits which are below. Below is Holly in her two outfits. The background of the pictures of Holly is not real snow (I wish it was, though). Holly is standing on a upside down bucket-thing which is sprinkled with cotton balls, infront of my Mom's bedroom door. I wanted to have the pictures look as though she was standing in a reindeers' natural habitat. I would like to thank all of you for the Very Special Christmas that I had this year. Thank you for all the lovely gifts, I have or will use them alot. This was posted by... Meg Turner

December Update

Image
The deck is finished! Our Christmas Tree 2007, which Meg found. Another victory for the Virginia Turners! Garrett's Colonial Day at school. What fun! Ahni volunteered to help during the day with the craft, Silhouettes. Hard work . Jason volunteered to help with clean-up after lunch. Posted by Meg Turner

remember these?

When Grandma's household was being shared among the family members, Harry remembered how much he had liked the wild floral sheets on the basement bed. He got them and this weekend I made comforter covers for both of us with two of them. Thought you might like to see (and laugh at) the retro vision of our 'new' bedding!

November 2007 Virginia Turner Update

On Sunday Jason thought he would go out and replace a few of the rotten boards on the deck. By Sunday night he had discovered the only rotten boards were the posts that were holding the deck up. Flag football was a great sucess. Garrett earned the Defensive MVP Award for the most tackles and sacks on the Seahawk team. He also earned an award for the most tackles in a single game, 20! Not bad for the second smallest player on the team. Meg made the All A Honor Roll and was recognized in a ceremony this week at her school. She was among 16 other students to be recognized for all A's from her team of 130.

It's Amazing What You Can Get Done.......

....when you aren't volunteering your time to youth football! Dad came over for a bit Saturday the 10 th to help install some of the pieces above the top windows on the driveway side and I finished off the last four rows on Sunday morning. Thank GOD I don't have to get that far up on the ladder anymore! Ahni , sorry to disappoint you, but no major injuries other than the black fingernail. I do have the backside to finish yet. Hope I didn't just jinx myself.

Welcome to the family, Josie

The Belknap Turners adopted a gray, long-haired tiger kitten Friday night, and Tiffani asked the kids to think up a name. It was Seamus's choice. More photos coming soon.

Halloween in VA 2007

Image
The group started out at the bottom of the hill and grew to a total of twenty kids by the time we left Scarborough Street and headed towards "Trunk or Treat" at the church. Meg is the witch in the back and Garrett is Jango Fett from Star Wars (blue suit). This is the older crew that lingered behind. Meg's friend, Megan, was a personal shopper. My favorite was Napoleon Dynamite. Meg had a Choir concert last week. Jason is keeping a close eye on Garrett. "What did I do?"

Exhibition in Montreal

Hi Family...Here are some photos of the work that I am exhibiting in Montreal right now. I wish that the gallery had its own website (or that I did...which is a goal for the coming year), but you can get a sense of the work with these. If anyone would like to see images of everything (including the display in the gallery and the work of my collaborator - plus more of my work), let me know. I have a 12MB Powerpoint slide show that I could send you. (the captions for the photos are below the work). a brooch: silver on top of painted wood. that brooch worn. another brooch: steel on top of wood. a necklace: laser etched wood (that has been painted) and silver a necklace: silver, beads, wood. rings: laser etched wood (the floral pattern) and the stacked edge of plywood ( i love that stripe!). "Beads + Ovals" necklace (silver, etched wood, beads). "Beads and Ovals" worn brooch: black elastic, wood (silver on the back) So, that's what I've been working on! As

Nick as either a member of the Army , or the Michigan Militia . Dr. Cori Crocker, in class with siblings. The cowgal and her horse. Seamus as the Human Torch , from the Fantastic Four , in a pose that both displays his muscles, and hopefully not foreshadowing, yet unfortunately resembling a mug shot. The pre-departure crew, with no worries about the drizzle of the night, just visions of massive candy acquisitions. They were under strict orders to retrieve Butterfingers and Paydays for their parents.

The reason for the October season, why we're all at the restaurant, the man of the hour. Jack forever eating. Contemplative Jenny. Or, is this the effect of draining that glass in front of her? Who ordered that giant margarita? "Hi-yah" The smile and the cake. Teamwork makes the dream work. Josh is serenaded with the birthday song, Jenny and Dad are amused. Sophie grins, mom cringes. Josh's girlfriend, Alexa Simon, tries the hat on for size. And Abbie's turn with the hat. The new Charlie's Angels. Is this restaurant-appropriate? We wrecked that place.
