Who says that Virginia can't have school closings too?

Last weekend the wx forecasters had been calling for a huge storm of up to 12 inches of snow for our area. On Tuesday the storm hit, but the temperatures were so crazy that we received more sleet and freezing rain than snow. The kids were released two hours early that day and didn't have to go back to school all week! While the main streets were fine on Thursday, sidewalks were treacherous and it was taking all the county's efforts to get the areas around the schools clear of the ice. Anyway, one of the neighbors had parked their car in front of our house, which also serves as the neighborhood sledding hill, so everyone was forced to sled down the icy street that second night.

As you can see, we had quite a few sledders.

And not all of them were kids.

The temperatures have stayed below freezing all week, but today, Saturday, the forecast calls for a high of 39. Garrett wants to go bowhunting this afternoon so we'll probably give that a shot...get it?
